Ground Breaking and Construction

Marking the start of a new chapter in Brunei Darussalam’s economy, the minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister’s Office, Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Vivapharm (renamed as ‘Simpor Pharma Sdn Bhd’), the Sultanate’s first GMP manufacturer of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products, with the aim of being the first Brunei Halal manufacturing company in the world.

Construction begins

Total site area: 100,000 sq ft

Production – 43,500 sq ft

Laboratory – 3,000 sq ft

Warehouse – 18,000 sq ft

Production Processes Testing

Simpor Pharma is in the process of acquiring Brunei Halal certification as well as conducting machine validation by manufacturer’s technicians. Majority production processes acknowledged by respective departments:

• Raw material importation
• License to manufacture
• Registration of Medicinal Products
• Poison License (where applicable)
