Simpor Pharma has achieved another milestone by achieving Grade A status from Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI), the assessment and certification body for food, drugs and cosmetics for Indonesia.

The MUI Halal certification, is one of the most sought after in the global Muslim community, where there isn’t a standardized certification body, but recognizes the parameters set out by MUI, home of over 200 million muslims, the largest single percentage (88%) of muslim population in the world.

This is a testament to the efforts Simpor Pharma has put in place, to ensure that not only are the raw materials tested for halal authencity, but the systems and processes are implemented according to Islamic Law to produce only authentic halal finished products.

Simpor Pharma has already been GMP certified by the Ministry of Health in Brunei, and Health Canada. Plans are already in place to initiate certification from Brunei Halal, PIC/S, TGA, WHO, and the FDA.

Simpor Pharma is a contract manufacturing firm that produces pharmaceutical, health supplements and cosmetics, based in the Salambigar Industrial Estate, in Brunei. It was formed out of a joint venture between Vivapharm Canada and the Brunei Government.
